Groove Child® is a rich and creative dance syllabus that offers qualified/established dance teachers a way to deepen children’s musicality, self-expression, and belief in themselves through celebrating their individuality through dance and imaginative movement.
The Groove Child syllabus courses allow licensed teachers to offer Groove Child classes at their school in addition to their current timetable, to help students through their dance journey from age 3 right up to age 18 explore their love of dance in a way that encourages ‘whole child’ development and nurtures creative skills that help them develop as people as well as dancers.
The younger Groove Child levels work to deepen children’s sense of musicality, feeling, and confidence, leading to the older levels that stretch senior dancers to increase their understanding of dance as a profession (in all its forms) and the skills they will need to succeed, technique, adaptability, resilience, work ethic, improvisational skills, choreographic skills, and authentic performance expression.
Groove Child is a licensed syllabus, not a franchise, so it has the huge benefit of being much more affordable and offers teachers 3 syllabi / levels to add to their student timetable; Junior syllabus 3-9yrs, Intermediate syllabus 10-14yrs, and Senior syllabus 15-18yrs. The syllabus has been carefully created to allow teachers the perfect balance between structure and creativity, allowing you to shape the classes to suit your personality and style as a teacher.
As with any progressive syllabus, each Groove Child level builds on the principles of the previous and students that work through grades have the potential to develop as truly expressive performers – and highly creative beings! The Groove Child® JUNIOR syllabus package includes:
- A new one-day intensive training 9am-5pm with 2 instructors, to learn the three junior syllabus levels: Purple 3-4yrs, Yellow 5-7yrs, Orange 7-9yrs.
- Syllabus handbook including detailed teaching notes and core objectives for these classes, including easy to use lesson plan framework.
- CD of the syllabus music, containing 40 tracks of specially created and produced music for all set exercises/dances.
- Private login to our membership website with access to videos of the set dances (as back up after the training day!)
- Access to our private licensee community Facebook group for additional support, down to earth ‘dance teacher life’ discussions, and extra inspiration – all year long.
- 70 complimentary custom Groove Child reward stickers to give out in class (more stickers and reward cards may be ordered if the teacher wishes to use them for their classes).
The Groove Child® INTERMEDIATE syllabus package includes:
- A one day intensive training 9am-5pm with 2 instructors, to learn the two intermediate syllabus levels: Blue 10-12yrs, Green 12-14yrs.
- Syllabus handbook including detailed teaching notes and core objectives for these classes, including easy to use lesson plan framework.
- CD of the syllabus music, containing 30 tracks of specially created and produced music for all set exercises/dances.
- Private login to our membership website with access to videos of the set work (as back up after the training day!)
- Access to our private licensee community Facebook group for additional support, down to earth discussions, and extra inspiration – all year long.
Our completely unique and one-of-a-kind SENIOR syllabus package is currently in final stages of development and will be available to dance teachers who have Intermediate licensee status (i.e. have completed both the Junior and Intermediate syllabus courses and have been delivering these sessions for a minimum of 6 months).
